Study on the Praia–Dakar Transport Corridor Project completed

A few days ago, we officially and successfully completed the Study on the Praia–Dakar Transport Corridor Project. The study was funded by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), with the African Development Bank acting as Fund Administrator.

The study comprised: (i) an assessment of the corridor to describe the current status of the connection between Cape Verde and Senegal, taking into account both ongoing and planned initiatives of that ECOWAS Member States; (ii) the identification of the optimal alignment through a multi-criteria analysis, comparing alternative options within each Member State of the Praia–Dakar corridor for investment purposes, including economic, environmental and social impacts, as well as indicative cost estimates; and (iii) the proposal of a realistic lotting strategy for the selected alignment to support the preparation of a full-scale feasibility study.

To achieve the above objectives, we mobilized highly qualified experts specialized in transport infrastructure engineering, each with more than ten years of experience in donor-funded transport infrastructure studies and supervision (rehabilitation, construction and upgrading) across Sub-Saharan Africa, fully capable of delivering reports and all related documentation in English, French and Portuguese.

We are ready to move forward and apply for the next phases of this assignment.
