Open Plan Consulting S.r.l. (OPC) carries out international development projects, covering the following sectors:
- maritime safety and security, promotion of maritime trade, fisheries and blue economy;
- environment (management and governance of the integrated water and waste cycle);
- mobility andtransport governance (land and maritime);
- architectural and urban planning services (planning, action plans for cultural sites, design and construction management assistance, strengthening cultural management).
OPC has an extensive network of stable relationships and connections, including local authorities such as the Tuscany Region, the Metropolitan City of Florence, ANCI Tuscany; the PIN Foundation – Prato Campus of the University of Florence, which brings together and connects the different worlds of research and business services, master’s degrees and advanced training courses, and universities; the Italian Merchant Marine Academy Foundation (FAIMM) in Genoa and the Italian General Command of Harbour Masters – Coast Guard; important players in the field of the blue economy and fisheries, such as the CNR IRISS (Institute for Research on Innovation and Research for Development) in Naples; the CIRCLE Group, an innovative SME specialising in the development of solutions for innovation and digitalisation in the port and intermodal logistics sectors, as well as international consulting on Green Deal and energy transition issues.
The current ongoing assignments of OPC are:
- in Fiji, the assignment FIJI BLUE FISHING, Increasing sustainability for fishing products value chain in Fiji;
- in Tanzania, the Consultancy Services to Develop Dar Es Salaam Port and Transport Corridors Community Charter (DPTCCC), funded by Trademark Africa;
- in Ukraine, the Institutional Support to the State Service for Maritime, Inland Waterway Transport and Shipping of Ukraine in the Implementation of the EU Acquis, Norms and Standards on Maritime Safety, in support of FAIMM in an EU “Twinning” project;
- AirLabò – an innovative cross-border LABOratory for improving AIR quality in port areas, between Italy and France (funded by INTERREG France Italy Maritime);
- in Mauritania, the Surveillance des frontières maritimes, recherche et sauvetage, in partnership with the French CIVIPOL and FAIMM;
- in Algeria, the EU Twinning Appui au développement de la recherche et de l’Innovation (IPTICAR), in support of the PIN Foundation – Polo di Prato of the University of Florence.
